This Website Privacy Statement only applies to websites, webpages and electronic addresses operated, maintained or administered by DJSIR under the domain name www.tourism.vic.gov.au. It does not apply to any linked or other web spaces. Collection of your personal information
You can access and browse our website without disclosing personal information. We will only collect your personal information when you provide us with your name and email address to contact us by sending a message. The personal information will only be used to respond to you. The personal information will be kept confidential unless otherwise required by law.
Electronic direct mail (eDM) & newsletter subscription
The department uses both internally built mail distribution software and third-party vendors to provide online communication services for some email campaigns and newsletter services.
In subscribing to newsletters, you are providing the department with personal information, which we will not disclose for any other purpose without your consent.
You can unsubscribe at any time and your email address will be moved to a 'do not contact' email database. To do this, select the unsubscribe link within each email or newsletter type you have previously subscribed to.

Is any other information collected?
When you visit this website, anonymous information about your visit is recorded to assist with website administration. This statistical information does not identify individual users or tell us anything about you specifically, but it does record how visitors use our site. This information will not be used to identify individuals unless a law enforcement agency executes a warrant to inspect website activity logs. DJSIR uses clickstream data, cookies and web beacons to monitor website traffic, as outlined below.
Clickstream data
The following non-personal information may be automatically recorded by the web server of any of DJSIR’s web spaces for statistical and system administration purposes:

Like many others, DJSIR’s web spaces and web services accessible through the DJSIR’s web spaces, may use cookies from time to time. Cookies are small data files that a web space or web service places on a user's hard drive to record aspects of that user's experience of the web space or web service respectively. Cookies are not used to identify you or record any of your personal information. DJSIR uses web beacons to record usage statistics for its web spaces. Web beacons are not used by DJSIR to identify you or record any of your personal information.
