Track Walk returns to 2025 Australian Grand Prix

27 February 2025

Formula 1 fans will once again be able to walk on the track after the 2025 Australian Grand Prix race finishes on Sunday, 16 March.

As Melbourne businesses rev up to welcome hundreds of thousands of sports fans to the city for the FORMULA 1 LOUIS VUITTON AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2025, the fan-favourite Track Walk will once again be part of the event.

The Track Walk will take place after the Grand Prix race finishes on Sunday, 16 March, allowing fans to get even closer to their racing heroes.

The announcement comes two days after it was revealed the program of events surrounding the 2025 race would also include the new, free, family friendly F1 Melbourne Fan Festival – running from Wednesday 12 March to Sunday 16 March at Melbourne Park Oval.

The bigger and better FORMULA 1 LOUIS VUITTON AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2025 program comes as organisers prepare for another record-breaking year, with tickets sold out on Saturday and Sunday, and only limited availability remaining for Friday.

It follows on from the 2024 Grand Prix, which attracted an estimated crowd of 452,055, beating the previous record set at the 2023 event by over 7,000 people.

The huge influx of interstate and overseas visitors will be another boon for Victoria’s tourism, hospitality and retail sectors that have already enjoyed significant boosts thanks to a record-breaking Australian Open in January and last year’s Australia v India Boxing Day Test which attracted the largest men’s Test crowd in Australian history.

Secured in Melbourne until 2037, the FORMULA 1 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX is a significant economic driver for Victoria and is one of the largest pop-up events in the southern hemisphere.

It’s a cornerstone of the pipeline of major sporting events – alongside the Australian Open, which is secured at Melbourne Park until at least 2046, the AFL Grand Final secured at the MCG until at least 2059 and the Boxing Day Test until 2030 – that supports a major events calendar that brings $3.3 billion into Victoria annually.
