Regional Tourism Network gets funding to support regional tourism businesses

Published: 5 June 2024

The Regional Tourism Network Industry Strengthening Program is set to boost tourism businesses in our regions.

The new program, part of the $170 million Regional Tourism and Events Fund, opens to applications on 11 June. It will support the Regional Tourism Network to increase their capacity to support their regional tourism businesses.

Grants of $100,000 will be available to Victoria’s 12 Visitor Economy Partnerships (VEPs) and Regional Tourism Boards to help them to deliver more tailored industry support and training programs for tourism businesses in their region.

This might include building the right skills to run a successful tourism business, building a workforce and your long-term capacity for growth. Specifically, it could be training to improve digital skills, develop sustainable business operations, and deliver accessible and inclusive visitor experiences.

Industry feedback advised us that the regions want to see increased funding to tourism infrastructure and industry development activities. This continued feedback will help shape a strong future for the visitor economy and to create a legacy for regional Victoria.

Regional investment into Victoria’s tourism offering continues to support Victoria to be the very best by supporting new events, attractions and more accommodation for visitors.
