More people are now able to experience an overnight stay at Point Nepean National Park after works to expand the park’s campground are now complete.
Supported by an investment of $2.5 million through the Regional Tourism Investment Fund – has delivered 46 Discovery Tents. Carefully placed among the park’s famous Moonah trees, these campsites are available for bookings.
Discovery Tents are pre-pitched tents on raised platforms. These have stretcher beds, mattresses and storage for personal belongings.
Their installation helps minimise the environmental impact of camping within Point Nepean National Park. As well as providing facilities for people with all levels of camping experience within a spectacular rugged coastal setting,
The tent platforms are accessible and located close to the camp kitchen, barbecues and amenities. Providing a comfortable stay for people with diverse needs and abilities.
The campground project was an initiative developed as part of the Point Nepean National Park Master Plan. The plan aims to protect, celebrate and better connect people to the landscape.
More than 3,500 people have stayed at Point Nepean since the campground opened in 2023. The campground has a total of 46 two- and four-person sites available to book. Helping to boost tourism in the area and providing more opportunities for people to get into nature on the Mornington Peninsula.
Bookings for the Point Nepean Discovery Tents are now available through to April 2025.
