Introducing 1860 Luxury Accommodation
Located amongst the beautiful landscapes and gold rush architecture in Beechworth, a two- and-a-half hour drive from Melbourne,1860 Luxury Accommodation offer guests tranquillity and total privacy.
Hand hewn from local Mountain Ash Eucalypt trees, 1860 is an original timber slab hut built in the 1860s. The hut originated in Emerald, was relocated to Taggerty and then moved to Beechworth, where it has been lovingly refurbished to save it from the ruins of time and weather.
Reclaimed materials and timbers have been used to construct most aspects of the hut, including red gum and jarrah floorboards, timber dining room tables, bench tops, walls and ceilings and a stone open fireplace built by renowned stone mason. Other features include a spacious bedroom with king size bed, private ensuite with a double bath, full kitchen and a cosy lounge/dining area.
Beechworth is a sanctuary for tantalising food and wine, great shopping, rich and interesting history and beautiful scenery. Take a bike ride to explore the town, visit one of many cellar doors, indulge at the day spa or explore the lakeside parklands, walking trails or historic gold-mining sites.
Rates for 1860 are $245 for weekends and $225 midweek (minimum two nights). A 10% discount applies for those who stay four nights’ or longer.
