Natskin Spa is the only place that offers the unique vinotherapy treatments which use a specially designed mud made from pinot noir grapes - a great antioxidant that helps eliminate toxins from the body.
Natskin uses vinotherapy mud in two ways – either in a special ‘geisha’ bath or in a mud wrap that encases the entire body.
Balgownie has two geisha baths which are sunken into the floor and are much deeper than normal baths, so clients can sit upright and be immersed in the product right up to their shoulders. Although the vinotherapy mud turns the water a purpley colour it still looks and smells pleasant due to the addition of several secret essential oils in the mix.
The vinotherapy wrap, called a vinotherapy cocoon treatment, involves giving the client a full-body salt exfoliation with grapeseed for 25 minutes. Then the red wine mud is applied to the whole body and the client is wrapped in cling film to increase the heat on the body and highten the therapeutic effects of the mud. An electric blanket under the treatment bed, plus a blanket laid on top of the client further increases the temperature. After about 20 minutes, the wrap is removed and the client enters the geisha bath to rinse off. The result is softer, more radiant and rehygrated skin.
