Unwind with an evening of art, food and wine in Melbourne

Platter Dining

Enjoy an evening of fine wine, food and art in the surrounds of five-star luxury with The Westin's new Unwind experience.

Guests are invited each evening to experience Unwind in the Lobby Lounge of the renowned Melbourne hotel, where they can sample regional Victorian wines matched with tasting plates featuring local produce.

A different region is featured every month for Unwind, with Mornington Peninsula on show in March.  Guests will enjoy taste sensations such as: Cape Schank poached lamb loin, medium rare with smoked trout mayonnaise and fried shallots served with stumpy gully rose 2007; and fragrant braised duck parcel on celeriac puree, wilted spinach and Ellisfield Farm cherry jus served with Voice of the Vine rose 2005.

Additionally, guests can be guided on a personalised (and complimentary) tour of the hotel's renowned contemporary art collection that features works of some of Australia's leading artists.

Highly regarded Melbourne art curator John Buckley worked closely with the hotel's interior designer Sue Carr of Carr Design, to create a formidable contemporary art collection, which includes an enviable collection of paintings, photography and prints including work by Bill Henson, Inmants Tillers and Anne Ferran.

Guests meet in the lobby for the free guided tour, which departs every evening at 6pm.  Self-guided tour booklets are available at the hotel's concierge and provide information on the artists.

Unwind is available every evening from 5pm for only $20 (which includes both the wine and regional tasting plate), and can be enjoyed by guests of the hotel and those dropping in for an evening of indulgence.
