New Pass Toasts Victoria’s Best Wineries
The new Cellar Door Pass Victoria, which combines more than 50 cellar doors and winery restaurants into a single flexible-itinerary package, will leave a sweet taste on the palate of wine-lovers when it launches in Victoria this March.
The Cellar Door Pass, developed by Smartvisit Solutions (SVS) and supported by Tourism Victoria, will retail for $99 and provides a total value to the consumer of over $300. Benefits to the consumer include:
- Up to $150 worth of premium wines (includes six bottles of up to $25 in value)
- Premium wine tasting, winery tours and other special offers for up to two people.
- Cellar Door Pass wine carton and free shipping within Australia.
- $20 dining reward voucher for each additional 6 bottles purchased.
- A Cellar Door directory and educational audio CD to help prepare for the experience
Victoria’s leading wine regions included in the first year of the program are: Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Macedon Ranges, Pyrenees, Grampians, Bendigo, Heathcote, Goulburn Valley, Rutherglen and Alpine Valleys, King Valley and Geelong and Bellarine. It is anticipated that further wine regions and additional wineries will be included in the future.
The Cellar Door Pass consists of:
- Cellar Door Pass Card (Smartcard) – Valid for 12 months from first use, identifies consumers and processes the redemption of entitlements at program partners.
- Cellar Door Pass Directory – a booklet containing maps, suggested itineraries and lists all wineries in the program and all dining and cellar door offers.
- Cellar Door CD – provides an overview of the wine tourism experience, features regional information including commentary by winemakers on wine varieties and wine tasting.
Passes will be available from the Best of Victoria desk at Federation Square Visitor Information Centre and selected regional Visitor Information Centres and wineries.
