New Phillip Island Penguin Hospital to be built

Penguin

Phillip Island is getting ready for the development of a new Penguin Hospital at Phillip Island Nature Park. The major project is assisted by the strong support of funding raised by the Penguin Foundation’s Adopt a Penguin program.

The hospital will be built in the next 12 months, aiming to enhance the protection and rehabilitation of native wildlife on Phillip Island. Such services will enable rehabilitation officers to treat twice the number of sick and injured seabirds, increasing the hospital’s treatment capacity to at least 1000 oil birds as part of the project.

The facility will provide training for emergency services and maritime incidents that impact Victorian’s sick and injured coastal-life.
