Tarrawarra Estate in Victoria’s beautiful Yarra Valley is the best winery destination in Australia, according to the country’s leading travel experts.
The winery estate has claimed the prestigious “Best Destination Winery” title in Gourmet Traveller’s inaugural Travel Awards, which aim to recognise what is truly special about Australia by polling the country’s most knowledgeable travellers – travel writers and editors, authors and television presenters.
TarraWarra Estate is the only destination in Victoria to win an award and this says Simon Napthine, General Manager of TarraWarra, “makes us very proud indeed. The Estate was established by Marc and Eva Besen over 20 years ago. They took a gamble when they left their successful fashion retailing business to pursue their dream to make fine wines, but it certainly paid off with judges unanimous: “Great restaurant and stunningly designed gallery space. Even the view is framed.”
