Formule 1 comes to town

Accor’s worldwide Formule 1 chain of budget hotels has just opened its first Australian city-centre hotel, in Melbourne’s CBD on Elizabeth Street. The hotel opened in February 2007 and has 146 rooms with ensuite, TV and air-conditioning. The heritage-listed seven-storey building, formerly the Old London Hotel, has been completely transformed with a $15 million renovation that offers a range of room types including standard, family and double rooms. Built in the 1900s with a two-storey annex constructed in the 1930s, the building’s façade was also restored as part of the renovation.
