Celebrate the Grape Grazing Festival in Yarra Valley

Grape grazing

Head to the Yarra Valley this month and rejoice in its annual celebration of Grape Grazing, featuring exceptional wines and outstanding food from some of the Yarra Valley's best wineries and restaurants.

For the first time, the festival will run for two weeks - from Saturday 9 to Monday 18 February - and will offer a wide variety of events, including intimate musical performances, incredible degustation experiences and gourmet cooking classes, culminating in the traditional Grape Grazing weekend on Saturday 16 - Sunday 17 February.

The 2008 event program features a wide range of activities including unique open-air operatic performances, energetic jazz concerts, outstanding food and wine matching events, such as 'Tapas and Tempranillo' and even a traditional Sicilian gnocchi cooking class.

Grazers will be encouraged to visit a number of winning wine venues in the Yarra Valley; from the Warburton Hwy, to Yarra Glen to Cottles Bridge. Guests will be entertained with fabulous bands including 'Louie and the Party Boyz' featuring Louie's alter ego 'Robbie Williams' at St Huberts. With sensational food, and outstanding wines, including their award winning Cabernet Sauvignon, this is the perfect place to kick start a Grape Grazing weekend.

There will also be plenty of action at the smaller, intimate family run wineries, such as Helen's Hill - named after the previous owner, Helen Fraser. With the cellar door nestled amongst gum trees, and great food prepared by The Vines restaurant, guests will be able to enjoy the sounds of 'Look Sharp' and 'Big Deal' who will be playing tunes throughout the Grape Grazing weekend.

Tickets for the Grape Grazing pass and individual events can be purchased through www.grapegrazing.com.au

The Grape Grazing weekend pass is $40 and includes a souvenir glass, a glass of wine, an entrée sized meal, a tea or coffee and a bottle of water. Grape Grazing events are priced individually, with details available on the website.

With a full weekend of activities available, there's a great reason to stay in the Yarra Valley. A range of accommodation options are available on the website.
