See Melbourne in style

Melbourne Fashion Week

Melbourne proves itself the style capital of Australia again in 2008, with an exciting program of events scheduled for its major fashion festival, and more boutiques, bars and shopping experiences than ever to explore.

The L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF), to be held from 2-9 March 2008, is the largest and most successful consumer fashion event in Australia. Recognised for launching the autumn/winter collections of the nation's leading designers and brands over the past 11 years, LMFF remains unique in delivering runway shows and state-of-the-art fashion 'happenings' to the public.

At the 2008 festival you can visit the Fashion Hub at Central Pier, see LMFF's ready-to-wear shows at L'Oréal Paris Runway and dine out amongst the chic and stylish. In other locations throughout the city you can experience Fashion Collections, a more personalised series of shows, free 'Pop Up' fashion catwalks, a full cultural program of exhibitions and performances, or attend the youth-oriented Independent Runway presented by Mini.

As well as staging L'Oréal Paris Runway Shows during the festival week, Central Pier will hold the majority of runway shows which will be complemented by wining and dining at one of the many purpose-built bars and meeting points.

The highly successful Pop Up Fashion Catwalks that were such a hit last festival will be expanded in 2008, with the first Pop Up being staged on the hallowed turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Government House will be the gorgeous setting for the exclusive Opening Party presented by L'Oréal Paris and the style talents at Harper's BAZAAR will curate a special 'fashion moment' to launch the festival.

LMFF's Cultural Program will once again be in full swing throughout the city at the 2008 festival, bringing together a mix of film, installations, exhibitions and performances with a fashion theme.
