Discover Melbourne's Secrets with ABC Podtours

ABC pod casts

There is so much to do and see in Melbourne that it's hard to know where to begin! Take the hassle out of sight-seeing with the new ABC Melbourne Podtours, a range of free audio guides revealing the sights, sounds and smells of Melbourne town.

The new audio guides, which can be easily downloaded to an MP3 player, direct listeners to some of Melbourne's best attractions and reveal the stories behind Melbourne's hidden lanes and historical buildings.

774 ABC Melbourne presenter Derek Guille takes listeners on an exploration of Melbourne's culinary hotspots with his podcast Eat, Drink Melbourne, which includes commentary by celebrity chef Stephanie Alexander.

Beneath Melbourne's stylish surface lie tales of grime and crime….and  774 ABC Melbourne presenter Jon Faine will explain all the gory details on his podast Death, Dirt & Disease – definitely not for the faint hearted.

Or join presenter Red Symons on a tour of some of the strangest spectacles and sauciest celebrity stories that Melbourne has seen on the Showbiz, Sexy Spectacles & Sideshows podtour of the city.

The tours can be downloaded for use in three easy steps:

  1. Download the tour and map of your choice
  2. Load the tour onto your MP3 player and print your map
  3. Pop on your headphones and hit the street with your 774 ABC Melbourne tour guide

The tours are a co-production with the University of Melbourne's Cultural Heritage Unit.
