First stop: Victorian Alps, next stop: Tour de France!
Victoria's seven alpine resorts - Dinner Plain, Mt Buller, Hotham, Falls Creek, Lake Mountain, Mt Baw Baw and Mt Buffalo - have joined forces to offer a great incentive for cyclists to head for the hills this summer with the annual Alpine Ascent Challenge.
To enter, simply obtain an Alpine Ascent Passport (free from Tourism Victoria or participating resorts), and cycle to at least four out of seven of Victoria’s alpine resorts during 30 November to 24 March 2009 to get it stamped.
Locations of the alpine ‘checkpoints’ where passports can be stamped can be found at www.visitvictoria.com.
Once they've got four stamps, challengers can go into the draw to win the Alpine Ascent Challenge which includes a return economy airfare for one person from Melbourne to Paris and a place in Tour One of Phil Anderson's guided tours to the 2009 Tour de France.
