Travel to regional hot spots over summer with V/Line cheap fares
V/Line have released a special low cost ‘Family Traveller’ ticket aimed at providing families with a cheap return travel option to key regional locations including Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Warrnambool, Swan Hill Shepparton and Echuca.
The ‘Family Traveller’ ticket allows up to four children to travel free with every two paying adults during off peak times, making it much easier and cheaper to visit one of many great attractions and events in regional Victoria, including:
- Country Races at Hanging Rock, 1 and 26 January, 2009 ($24.80 -V/Line Family Traveller ticket to Woodend)
- Warrnambool Racing Carnival, 5–7 May, 2009 ( $98.80 - V/Line Family Traveller ticket to Warrnambool)
- Golden Age of Couture Exhibition, Bendigo Regional Gallery, 7 Dec – 22 March, 2009 ($60 V/Line Family Traveller ticket to Bendigo)

- Port of Echuca ($77.60 V/Line Family Traveller ticket to Echuca)
Fare prices quoted are the complete return ticket price for a family group of 2 adults and up to 4 children.
V/Line also offers free access to Melbourne’s metropolitan trains, trams and buses, and also free travel on local buses in a number of regional cities with purchase of V/Line tickets to and from metropolitan Melbourne.
