Hunt for vintage treasures on new tour
Those with a penchant for vintage fashion and retro home wares will be in their element on the brand new Vintage Outing tour – the latest offering from Melbourne’s Hidden Secrets Tours.
The four-and-a-half hour tours cover the inner suburbs and are hosted by Empire Vintage store owner Lyn Gardener (aka Miss Shirley) and Danielle Pump (aka Betty) who take participants from store-to-store in lovingly restored 1960s Fiat 1500s.
The groups get to fossick in a variety of shops and boutiques selling everything from antique furniture to kitchen utensils, through to fur capes, costume jewellery and children’s toys.
The nostalgic tours run every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and bookings are essential. The $245 per person charge includes refreshments and some goodies to take home as a memento. Group sizes are kept small – four to seven people – to ensure the experience is special and enjoyable.
