Melbourne struck with spring fashion fever
Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2008 will take over the CBD from 1 to 7 September, celebrating the latest looks for spring and summer and Melbourne’s hottest retailers, boutiques, laneways, bars and venues.
Fashionistas will be spoilt for choice with a jam-packed program of more than 100 events – including catwalk parades, millinery workshops, film festivals, river cruises, race days, exclusive retail events, lively panel discussions, exhibitions, seminars and not-to-be missed after-parties at some of Melbourne’s most stylish bars.
Evening fashion parades at the Melbourne Town Hall will feature creations by many of Melbourne's leading designers; while the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Breakfast Club will offer $5 breakfasts at five of the city’s best spots for shopping (Mag Nation, Self Preservation, Superfino, Flower Temple and Verve Café).
The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) will also run a special week-long cinema program titled Yves Saint Laurent on Film, paying tribute to the legendary French fashion designer.
