Mantra Deep Blue Warrnambool welcomes whale-watching season

Mantra Deep Blue

Warrnambool has excitedly welcomed the arrival a southern right whale, affectionately known as ‘Big Lips’, and her calf to its Logans Beach whale nursery, marking the beginning of the whale-watching season which runs until the end of September.

Whales are annual visitors to Warrnambool from July until October, travelling from the Antarctic to the town's warmer waters to have their calves. Upon their arrival, the town goes into ‘whale mode’.

To coincide with the opening of the 2008 whale-watching season, the four-and-a-half star Mantra Deep Blue resort has put together a luxurious new ‘Whale Experience’ package for visitors.

Starting from $189 per couple, the package includes luxury overnight accommodation for two people, choice of continental breakfast buffet or freshly cooked a la carte breakfast as well as free souvenir binoculars to enhance your whale watching experience. An optional extra is a scenic whale flight with Air Warrnambool for additional cost of only $75.

The Whale Experience package is available from now until 30 September 2008.
