Stay and play packages lure backpackers to regional Victoria

Great Ocean Road

Two important players in the backpacker market – YHA Victoria and Autopia Tours - have joined forces to promote fun tours to two top spots in regional Victoria.

The YHA-Autopia ‘Stay and Play’ packages will visit the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians, providing holiday makers with organised sightseeing tours enroute and the freedom of independent travel at the destination.

Guests will join an Autopia day tour from Melbourne in the morning and visit all the highlights along the Great Ocean Road or at the Grampians, before staying overnight at the local YHA eco-hostel in either Apollo Bay or Halls Gap.

The packages features the sightseeing tour, two nights’ accommodation and a ‘welcome pack’ with discount vouchers to businesses in the area, including rock climbing, abseiling, sea kayaking, fishing as well as restaurants and cafes. At the end of the two nights, guests can join the day tour bus and enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing on the way back to Melbourne.

The three-day, two-night Great Ocean Road ‘Stay and Play’ package costs $148 per person and departs from Melbourne daily. The three day/two night Grampians ‘Stay and Play’ package costs $136 per person and departs from Melbourne on Wednesday and Friday.
