Zoos’ baby boom

Healesville Sanctuary – Platypus

Healesville Sanctuary and Werribee Open Range Zoo have recently welcomed new additions to their animal families – Healesville celebrated the arrival of two baby platypuses (in February) and Werribee a hippopotamus calf (in late March).

The three births are a tribute to both facilities’ successful breeding programs and provide visitors with a rare opportunity to watch the baby animals bonding with their parents.
