Melbourne’s new world-class cooking
Learn how to recreate culinary masterpieces from around the world at a new boutique cooking school run by renowned chef Tony Tan.
Recently opening in Toorak, the school is equipped with state of the art Miele kitchen equipment and incorporates Feng Shui principles in its designs.
Hands on classes are for eight students run for five hours, ensuring intensive tuition and encouraging open discussions. All classes include either lunch or dinner accompanied by a selection of fine wines by Brown Brothers, and culinary styles include contemporary French, Japanese, Cantonese, Modern Australian and Mediterranean.
The 2007 cooking class program and tour schedule features guest lessons from internationally renowned chefs such as Dorian Schuster from Iggy’s (one of Asia’s top four restaurants) and some of Melbourne’s best - Andrew O’Connell of Three, One, Two, Raymond Capaldi of Fenix, Philippe Mouchel of the Brasserie, Robin Wickens of Interlude and Greg Feck of Richmond Hill Café & Larder.
The schedule includes an 11 day Gourmet Tour to Spain in October, offering students access to Michelin starred restaurants, regional cooking classes, outings to markets, and a few behind the scenes opportunities.
Tony Tan has been a chef for over 25 years, during which time he has received such accolades as having one of his cooking schools ranked in the top 20 around the world by London’s Financial Times magazine.
