‘Happy Feet’ make their way to Melbourne
A brand new world-class Antarctica exhibit will open at Melbourne Aquarium early next year, featuring the stars of ‘Happy Feet’ – the Antarctic King and Gentoo penguins.
“The Antarctica exhibit will provide an insight into one of the world’s last frontiers of science, research and adventure. We are proud to be harnessing some of the world’s newest technology to recreate an amazing Antarctica experience for our visitors”, says Melbourne Aquarium General Manager, Rob Taranto.
The new and unique exhibition is part of the $20.6 million redevelopment of the Melbourne Aquarium, which will also include new retail, food & beverage, and conference facilities. Set to open in early 2008, the extension is forecasted to provide additional visitation of 200,000 patrons in its first year.
